TheClimateChange is a team made up of experienced change management and facilitation specialists.
We have the combined strength of an Industrial Engineering background and a decade of experience in helping deliver sustainability projects throughout many types of industries, globally.
Our team draws our skills from a vast array of occupational sectors. This ranges from delivering technical projects at some of the largest industrial companies in South Africa, to working with multinational organisations driving change management and innovation. We have also worked with Exco teams around achieving on their ESG goals.

About Dave
I grew up in the South West of England and graduated from Plymouth University in Electrical engineering. My home always had a strong focus on helping others. After spending 8 years in heavy industry, I went into the ministry for 12 years where I studied Theology and Life coaching while starting new churches. This was a very fulfilling time in my life. In 2009, my family and I decided to move to South Africa where I started a new season in my life as an entrepreneur and life coach. I had the joy of co-founding a company that specialised in energy optimisation and sustainability. This grew to become an international company and now employs staff in SA, UK, & the EU.
All of my experience has helped me get to a point where I can bring my engineering, people skills & entrepreneurship together to focus on helping businesses become more sustainable. And in doing so, help improve the world we live in.
I am still providing coaching services under my own company, Db-lab.
Db-lab is a place for helping young entrepreneurs and business owners.
Here, I work one-on-one with many business leaders, providing life and business coaching, conflict resolution, and developing growth strategies and change management.
Db-lab works alongside high-performing teams to maintain clarity and focus on key deliverables. I believe that each individual & business has its own inbuilt compass that can guide your focus and your goals. By understanding where that compass points towards, you can plot out a path and create a strategy for success.

Engineering
My training in Electrical Engineering was completed whilst in the UK. I specialized in the use of power electronics and the optimisation of electrical consumption. I have worked across a wide range of industries and have 20 years of experience in industrial process control, building management systems (BMS), and data reporting systems.
People
I have studied Industrial/organisational Phycology, and have 15 years of experience working in many organisations prior to the founding of my last company Energy Drive. My focus was on company culture, change management and conflict resolution, I also work with many inspiring young entrepreneurs in start-up businesses through my company db-lab. My experience both working IN the business and ON business has equipped me to better understand how people work together, how to communicate effectively, how to unlock internal conflict translate vision and strategy into a real scalable business
Business
I have founded a number of start-ups through the various stages of growth. I am on the board of many other businesses and am familiar with the commercial and legal challenges of running a company. Understanding those challenges faced by the senior leadership teams brings with it insight and perspective.
About Mike
I’m a born and bred South African, who grew up in the little town of Springs. I graduated from WITS University, after which I went on to work in the multinational corporate world for 13 years, which gave me irreplaceable insight and experience. And yet, I had a love for facilitation and working with people that I couldn’t help but pursue. So, in 2006, I resigned to follow my passion and started CAFE Life, a coaching and facilitation organisation that supports individuals, teams, and organisations in navigating change management, work culture, and team effectiveness.
CAFE Life is focused around speaking to the hearts of people within your team. We know that true change can only happen when your entire business is aligned in that change. That’s why we take your aspirations and translate them into a language that is easily identified with. The way we do this is through the art of facilitation. When you do it right, facilitation has the power to create meaningful discussions, innovative thinking, and honest conversation that brings about the most remarkable solutions and progress. This all comes right from within your team. All we do is help you unearth it.

Innovation & creativity
I love to create and seek to make complex simple. My creative work has produced two books, as well as a resource box for personal and workplace resilience. The creative space has led to many collaborative projects with customers, to enable learning environments and the development of resources that support wellbeing and effectiveness.
People
Working with people in transformative spaces has been my niche for three decades. Three years in pastoral youth, 13 years managing and leading people in the corporate world, and 16 years facilitating and coaching people and teams for effectiveness.
Business
I have worked in, and with, both the corporate world and small teams. This has taken me into broad diverse spectrums. From board rooms, to factory floors, schools halls, places of worship, and sport fields. The focus areas are culture, change, and team effectiveness. The medium I use is always transformative conversation that enables people to find resourcefulness, resolve, and meaning.
